Default Fury's Chest Running Service

That's right folks, after over a year offline, Fury is back! For those of you who've worked with me before, you know that I'm a trusted name in the chest-running business, and I intend for my new service to help you get your items more easily and more quickly than ever before. For those of you new to the world of chest-running, my plan is to provide you with the best chest-running service available.

Note: There's a lot of information in this thread. If you don't want to read it all and just want to have some chests run, skip straight to the Fury's Chest Running Rules and Info section.

What sorts of chests do we run, and what rare items can you get from them?

--------------------------

Prophecies:

Shiverpeak
-->Mursaat weapons

Darkstone
-->Magma Shields

--------------------------

Factions:

Canthan (HM Only)
-->Celestial weapons

Luxon
-->Chromium Shards, Jade Swords

Kurzick
-->Gothic weapons, Guardians of the Hunt

Forbidden
-->Platinum weapons

Note: Cantha is listed as HM only because it is one of the few
places that has both highly desirable skins and keys that cost less
than 600g and thus do not count for the chest running title.

--------------------------

Nightfall:

Vabbian
-->Fellblades, Fiery Gladius

Ancient Elonian
-->Dead Swords, Sephis Axes, Fiery/Icy Blade Axe

Margonite
-->Fellblades, Elemental Swords, Fiery/Icy Blade Axe

--------------------------

Hard Mode/Eye of the North:

Locked Chests
-->Elite Tomes
-->Same items as the area in NM, with a higher chance of rare/gold drops

Note: Since Locked Chests in HM count toward Treasure Hunter in all areas,
I'm more than happy to run lockpicks in HM in areas where the NM chests are
too low to count toward the title.

--------------------------

I can run Lockpicks on normal or hard mode for any of the areas listed above. While the quality of normal mode drops is much lower than that of hard mode drops, the Lockpick retention rate in NM is much higher. I will only run chests that count toward the Treasure Hunter title (any chest with keys costing 600g or more), I may be willing to try running chests that aren't on this list - you're certainly welcome to ask!
(Note: Fury is R6 Treasure Hunter/R5 Lucky [38% Retention in HM] - For more info, go here: Guildwiki: Lockpick )

How does this work?

It's pretty straightforward. You are expected to provide the keys or gold for the keys. When we finish running your chests, we'll contact you and return the items that the chests dropped. Remember that chest running takes time, so please bear with us if it takes a while to work through your keys. Also, if you ask for a very large order, we may ask you to pick up part of the order two or more times, simply because we have to store the items we get somewhere and can run out of room.

If you're interested in the mathematics and/or economic aspects of Chest Running, this link leads to an extremely interesting and well-written paper on the subject, detailing the probabilities and mechanics of running based on independent research:
The Economy of Chest Running
Also, see the addendum at the bottom of this post.

This Sounds Like A Scam...

I hate to say it, but there are some people who take advantage of the chest-running market to steal keys, or run the keys but keep the good drops for themselves. However, I have been running for a long time, and many of my former clients can attest to my honesty. While I can't control the quality (or quantity, in the case of lockpicks) of items that you get, I guarantee that you will receive all and only the items that come out of the chests I open with your keys and am not interested in scamming or stealing from you in any way. I do this to level my Treasure Hunting titles, not to cheat you out of your hard-earned gold.
Please feel free to peruse the customer feedback in my older threads; they are linked to below.

**DISCLAIMER - Please Read This**

I hate to include one of these, but occasionally these situations come up, and it's better to address them beforehand.

---While I guarantee to give you all and only the items that come out of the chests I open for you and will not in any way steal from, scam, or cheat any client, the quality of the items is random and the speed of the runs is influenced by the locations of spawned chests and monsters and other factors. If necessary, I will hold items for up to two weeks after I complete the running. After this point, I reserve the right to identify and/or sell the items in question. If for some reason you cannot pick up your items before two weeks have passed, please contact me and we can work something out.---

Please note that the two weeks is your guaranteed minimum; usually it's about a month and a half before I decide that I really need that extra inventory space. Also, the two weeks is assuming that I simply don't see you on and you make no attempt to contact me. If for some reason you aren't able to pick up the items within this time frame, let me know and we'll work something out. If you don't pick up the items because I am offline for some reason, I will not hold you to the disclaimer. Finally, if I do end up repossessing items and you contact me afterward, I'll do my best to find a mutually agreeable resolution.

Fury's Chest Running Rules and Info:

If you're interested in my service, please post here with the number and type of key you'd like me to run and your IGN, or contact me in-game (IGN: Fury Incarnate) or via Private Message. Most of the time I can run while you wait; as a rough estimate, it takes about 2.5 min/key for most areas.
You're most likely to find me on GW between the hours of 7 pm and 11:30 pm EST, though I'm on all the time. If for some reason you can't reach me through any of the above methods, my e-mail is [email protected]. And please leave feedback - it's the best way for us to improve our service!

PS: For any aspiring Chest Runners out there, I'm more than happy to share what I know about the art. Let me know and I'll show you any of my runs, free of charge.

A Bit of Chest Running Math

For those of you interested in mathematics, or just wanting to check that you're getting a reasonable number of drops, here's a bit the math behind how lockpicks work.
Retaining a lockpick can be modeled using a Bernoulli Trial for breaking. This means that the number of uses until the pick breaks can be modeled with a Geometric Distribution:
X~Geo(p), where p is the probability of the pick breaking on use (1 - the probability of the pick being retained).

The expected value for this function is E(X) = 1/p, meaning that the average number of uses for a given lockpick is (1/p) uses.
The probability mass function of this distribution, the likelihood of a pick lasting for exactly k uses, is [(1-p)^(k-1)]p.
The cumulative distribution function of this distribution, the likelihood of a pick lasting for k or fewer uses, is given by 1-[(1-p)^k].
Using the cumulative distribution function you can also find the likelihood of a pick lasting at least k uses; this is given by (1-p)^(k-1).

This is rounded to 2 decimal places.

Note that for the purposes of probability, 0.xx = xx% (ex. 0.5 = 50%)

I'll give you a small order:
20 lockpicks for each area.
[HM]

Factions:
Forbidden [20 lockpicks]
Kurzick [20 lockpicks]

Prophecies:
Shiverpeak [20 lockpicks]
Darkstone [20 lockpicks]

It's right, that you will give my every item, you get dropped from my lockpicks?
And: How many items are you able to storage, till I'm online?
